Newbie - Brides Unite!

Hi! My name is Amanda and I am getting married in March of '10. I used to be on weight watchers and lost 30 pounds to reach 195, but now I am back to 225 again after a full year of graduate school, sitting on my butt reading books and articles and writing papers, so I am ready to get back on the band wagon. I have plans to rejoin weight watchers once the school year starts and I have some financial aid to work with, but for now I would be happy to just get some daily exercise in and lower my calorie intake to about 1800 a day.

I haven't found a dress yet, but I can tell you that trying them on is no fun at my size. I'm wearing a size 16 pant right now and nothing zips up in the back to give me a good idea of how it would look. I'd really like to try to get at least 10 pounds off before I start seriously looking again (or at least get back to a size 14 pant by exercising and losing inches).

I'm keeping track of what I am eating and how much I am working out in my personal journal, but I wanted to share my successes and challenges with a community that seemed to be nice, and this looked like the place! Here goes something!
